This lot is located in Chicago.
Condition
Framed: 36 1/4 x 31 1/8 inches.The canvas has an old, thin lining. The paint surface is stable but with very fine, flat craquelure. A few very small chips of paint missing at upper left quadrant and at upper right. The surface is generally dark, however, the flower present vivid colors and clean whites, as they may have been selectively cleaned. Under UV light: the whites have been cleaned of the thick varnish, and everything else is covered by the green, opaque varnish. There is old inpainting visible on leaves and stems in the upper half, and a few areas near the lower edge. Additional images available upon request.
